Jerrold Kippen meets with regional and global leaders Beijing international arbitration conference

Jerrold Kippen (FCIArb and CIArb-Thailand’s Vice Chair) attended “The Belt Road Initiatives – Will it Change the Arbitration and ADR?” conference on behalf of CIArb-Thailand in Beijing on 9 September 2016. The conference was sponsored by the CIArb-East Asia branch and the China Academy of Arbitration Law on behalf of CIArb-Thailand. There were over 40 speakers at the conference from Asia and beyond.

Jerrold and Olaf instruct advanced “ARM” international arbitration assessment course

Jerrold Kippen (FCIArb) and Olaf Duensing (FCIArb) were two of the three assistant instructors at CIArb-Thailand’s Accelerated Route to Membership in International Arbitration assesment course on 22-23 September 2016 in Bangkok. The course was a great success with nine candidates from Thailand and the Asia region.

Jerrold Kippen meets with the Secretary General of China’s CIETAC arbitration center

On 8 November 2016 in Beijing, CIArb-Thailand Vice Chair, Jerrold Kippen joined a CIArb delegation which included: CIArb President, Sundra Rajoo; CIArb Director General, Anthony Abrahams; and CIArb-Hong Kong Vice Chair, David Fong at the China International Economic and Trade Commission (“CIETAC”) to meet with CIETAC’s Secretary General, Wang Chengjie, to discuss future cooperation between CIArb and CIETAC in promoting arbitration and meditation in China and beyond.

CIArb’s 2016 Asia Region Branch Chairs Meeting

Jerrold Kippen had the pleasure of attending (on behalf of the Thailand Branch) the Asia Regional Branch Chairs Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in Kuala Lumpur on 13 & 14 April. Also in attendance were the Branch Chairs from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia, as well as, the current President, Director General, Asia Region Coordinator, and the two Asia Region members of the Board of Trustees of CIArb.

Olaf Duensing and Jerrold Kippen honoured to instruct CIArb-Thailand’s Arbitration course

Olaf and Jerrold had a great time instructing the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Thailand’s “Introduction to International Arbitration” course and certification at the new Thailand Arbitration Center on 25-26 February 2016. With 25 candidates enrolled in the course within only one month of its announcement the the course was tremendous success.
